It is made of recycled metal and remnants of "Texas shellstone" which is a very porous stone that is mined off the coast of Texas. It comes as a 2 inch thick piece that is flat on both sides. I take a chisel to the stone and break away parts of it until the fossilized shells are exposed. The end result is a dramatic piece of stone to which I add the metal sea life figure. The metal figure is given a rusted patina and then clear coated to stop any continued corrosion. Because the stone is so porous; small "crumblike" bits can come off when handling (this is normal).

I only have a few pieces of stone, so these will be limited to my supply.
