PADDLE HARD
PADDLE HARD
Paddle Hard has a double meaning. As a surfer you are always trying to catch the best wave or beat some other kook to get the position on them. Any surfer will tell you…no matter what size waves are breaking…the best day surfing is when you Paddle Hard. It also refers to the element of the piece…which if taken in the ocean, would require that person to Paddle Hard to keep from sinking(if that’s even possible). I think they should know that before they jump in.
Whatever the case…Paddle Hard is made completely from recycled material. The board is made up of over 200 long spool bolts that I’ve collected from a friends company over the years. The shape is accurate to a real 7 1/2’ board with rocker, taper and thickness. Each bolt is welded together and that forms a superior honeycomb grid that is extremely strong. The base plate was given to me by a friend who’s grandfather passed away leaving him with many treasures that he then passed on to me. Even the copper plaque that I’ve signed is from a centerpiece at a friends wedding.
